The aim of physiotherapy is to promote, maintain and restore physical function to as near normal as possible. Some of the traditional treatment methods used include joint mobilisations, massage and soft tissue techniques. Electrotherapy is also used to bring about pain relief and repair injured tissues.

Posture advice and exercise therapy is commonly used to strengthen and stretch muscles as either part of the healing and rehabilitation process or to address muscular imbalances.

Susan Wallace

Get Moving Keep Moving Ltd and Verve are owned and run by Susan Wallace. Susan qualified from Northumbria University in 2009 with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy after working in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years (personal training, sports therapy, health club management, sport and exercise college tutor). As well as providing musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, she specialises in the Pilates method having taught since 2002. Susan teaches a number of the mixed ability matwork classes on our timetable as well as rehabilitation classes and Reformer Pilates (using specialized Pilates equipment). Prior to opening Verve she was an instructor trainer for over 10 years with Future Fit Training Ltd.
